Fine Grade Texture

A coarse aggregate leaves a pronounced profile that is felt underfoot and holds dirt in the texture. The fine grade of Safety Grip raises the surface just enough to add traction, so the floor keeps a more even appearance and is easier to clean. Where a heavier, more aggressive profile is wanted, use Safety Grip Coarse instead.

Hard Mineral Aggregate

The grip particle is white aluminium oxide, a synthetic mineral at around Mohs 9 with an angular shape. Angular particles key into the wet coating and sit proud of the cured film, while the hardness resists wearing smooth under traffic. The texture stays in the floor rather than polishing out.

Performance Profile

Mineral Anti-Slip Additive for Coloured Coatings. White aluminium oxide aggregate for mixing into coloured floor paints and coatings. It builds a fine, even texture into the cured film and holds that texture under traffic, for interior and exterior painted floors.

Essential Information

Product Details

Description

EverFlor Safety Grip Fine is a mineral anti-slip additive made from white aluminium oxide. It is mixed into coloured floor paints and coatings before application, so the texture is built into the film rather than scattered over the surface. Once the coating cures, the angular particles stand slightly proud of the film and give the foot something to key against.

The Fine grade is the subtle option. It raises surface grip while keeping the finish close in appearance to the paint it is added to, and it stays easier to sweep and mop than a heavily profiled floor. Where a much heavier, more pronounced profile is wanted, use EverFlor Safety Grip Coarse instead.

Safety Grip Fine is intended for coloured coatings. The aggregate is a white mineral and can remain visible through a transparent film, so for clear sealers and clear coatings use EverFlor Easy Grip, a polypropylene additive formulated for that job.

Recommended areas of use

  • Commercial floors finished in coloured floor paint
  • Industrial floor areas and production spaces
  • Workshops
  • Garages
  • Interior and exterior painted floor areas

Features

  • Mixes directly into compatible coloured paints and floor coatings, with no separate broadcast stage
  • Creates a fine anti-slip texture that improves grip over an untextured painted floor
  • Aluminium oxide at roughly 9 on the Mohs scale, so the particles resist wearing away under traffic
  • Angular particle shape gives the texture its bite rather than relying on bulk
  • Disperses through the wet coating when stirred thoroughly, keeping texture even across the floor
  • Finer profile than a coarse aggregate, so the floor stays straightforward to clean
  • An economical way of adding slip resistance to a floor that is being painted anyway
  • Brush or roller application, using the same method as the coating itself

Good to know

Add 700g per 20 litres of coating, or 175g per 5 litres. Stir the additive in thoroughly before you start and keep stirring at intervals during application, as mineral aggregate will settle in the tin if left standing.

Apply between 5°C and 30°C. Store between 0°C and 30°C and use within 24 months.

This product improves slip resistance and increases surface grip. No floor coating should be treated as non-slip, and spillages still need clearing.

Application

BEFORE YOU START

Use Safety Grip Fine with coloured paints and floor coatings. Do not use it in clear sealers or transparent coatings, where the white mineral can remain visible — use EverFlor Easy Grip for those. Prepare and prime the floor as the coating manufacturer's instructions require.

MIXING

Add 700g of Safety Grip Fine to 20 litres of coating, or 175g to 5 litres. Stir the full tin until the aggregate is evenly dispersed, reaching the bottom and the sides. Mix a complete batch rather than dosing a part-filled tray, so the texture matches across the floor.

APPLICATION

Apply by brush or roller using the method specified for the coating. Keep the material moving: stir the tin again every few minutes and decant small amounts at a time, because the mineral settles while you work. Apply between 5°C and 30°C.

STORAGE

Reseal unused product and store between 0°C and 30°C, dry and off the floor. Shelf life is 24 months from manufacture.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

How much do I add to my floor paint?
Add 700g of Safety Grip Fine to 20 litres of coating, or 175g to 5 litres. Mix the full tin rather than dosing a tray, and stir until the aggregate is evenly distributed through the paint.
Can I use it in a clear sealer or varnish?
No. Safety Grip Fine is a white mineral and can stay visible through a transparent film, so it is intended for coloured paints and coatings. If you need an anti-slip additive for a clear coating, use EverFlor Easy Grip, a polypropylene additive suited to both clear and coloured systems.
What is the difference between Fine and Coarse?
Fine produces a subtler, less aggressive texture. It suits areas where appearance matters, where the floor needs to stay easy to sweep and mop, and where you still want more grip than a smooth painted film gives. Safety Grip Coarse is the choice where a much heavier, more pronounced anti-slip profile is required.
Will the texture wear away under traffic?
The aggregate is aluminium oxide, a very hard synthetic mineral at approximately 9 on the Mohs scale, with high wear resistance. The particles hold their angular shape under traffic rather than polishing smooth, and because they are mixed through the coating they are held in the film rather than sitting loose on top of it.
Does it keep the paint rolling out evenly?
Yes, provided you keep it stirred. Mineral aggregate is dense and settles in the tin while you work, so stir at intervals and decant small amounts at a time. Apply by brush or roller between 5°C and 30°C.
